iPad and iPad 2 Tips: Can I use an Ipad to view a solar eclipse?
Ok so I’ve heard that there’s going to be a solar eclipse here in the states on May 20th 2012 and I was wondering if I could use the Ipad to view the show. If I just held the Ipad up to the sun were I’m looking at the Ipad and not the sun I should be safe right??
Best Answer:
What a great idea!
No it will not harm your eyes if you us the video camera to capture the eclipse.
I have used my droid to take direct pictures of the sun before. If it is high in the sky they are mostly washed out to bright yellow light.
But the sunset pictures are great so I don’t see any reason why it would not look spectacular on your ipad.
If it does wash out find and old pair of dark sun glasses and pop out a lens and tape it in from of the camera lens.
The sun WILL NOT damage your ipad! (see videos of others below)
Good luck!

Answer:
IMMA FIRIN MA LAZER
Answer:
Do you live in the region where it will be visible? The iPad’s camera probably will not see anything of detail. The bright light will surely overpower the camera unless you put some sort of filter in between. If you don’t have a filter handy, I once took a picture of the sun with my iPod camera by breaking apart an old floppy disk (if you still have any lol) and holding the black plastic over the camera. DO NOT do this with your eyes. Also, be careful when looking at your iPad because if you slip you may expose the sun to your eyes.

Answer:
Yes, you’re fine as long as you don’t look directly at the sun with your eyes for more than a fraction of a second. The iPad can’t emit anything that will hurt you.
Answer:
You could also go to a welding shop and ask them if they have any welding glass that they are not using anymore and use that.
Answer:
You will be safe, but the camera in your iPad will probably be permanently damaged by the Sun’s radiation. The only safe way to view the eclipse is with a proper solar filter. Read more…

iPad and iPad 2 Tips: How do tablets like the iPad or EEE Pad Transformer Prime dispense heat?
Answer:
yup.
Answer:
Well, the microchips are made of silicon which has very little resistance to electricity, but there still is. So the resistance causes the silicon to heat up and waste heat is produced.
Answer:
It sounds like your question could also be worded like this "How do mobile devices use processors (which create heat) and not burst into flames or melt in the palm of your hand?"
The answer to that question would be–passive heat sinks. Small, ribbed pieces of aluminum that displace the heat, similar to what is in a computer, but passive heat sinks dont have a fan.

iPad and iPad 2 Tips: Which iPad VPN unblocks Netflix, YouTube, Facebook & Skype that are blocked in some countries outside US?
Best Answer:
HidePad VPN unblocks all of those sites. It works worldwide and is compatible with all models, versions of the iPad.
Here’s a full explanation of how this works:
https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B-gCcNyPzYmcaVM1ZXNQUi04aW8
The reason a VPN works is because it gives you an US IP address that helps you bypass restrictions on social networking, video, movie and VoIP sites in countries outside the US that either tend to block these sites or censor them extensively.
An iPad VPN also supports military grade encryption for anonymous browsing:

I was wondering if you can do the same thing on the Playbook. I heard that you can sync your Playbook with your blackberry, but is that the only way you can get apps? I don’t have a blackberry so that wouldn’t work

iPad and iPad 2 Tips: Is it true the Government can?
My friend told me that i should buy an iPad she said this in these words:
Friend-Dont buy an iPad Just some goddamn government leash that the government tracks you and your whereabouts 24/7 with their GPS device. They can listen to all your conversations, whether its "turned on" or not.
Im kinda wondering if its true cause my cousin has the iPad 2 and he said that he gets emails about stuff that only family would know like what school he goes to :s
Is it true?
Best Answer:
No, they don’t use iPads to track you.
But they can use your cell phone signal (if they wanted to).
In the 90s, Clinton signed into law the Communications Assistance for Law Enforcement Act, making it illegal for a phone company to refuse assistance to police (or FBI) in tracking criminals.

Answer:
government doesnt own ipads
Answer:
Govt can do that and more but unless they have a reason to track you, they won’t even if you had 50,000 gps devices. They know what school you go to without any iPad do you have nothing to lose
Answer:
even if they could, which I doubt, why would they be listening to you, and think about how many millions of hours of audio a day they would have to sift through. Big Brother isn’t that big.
Answer:
Yes, although not directly. The government can subpoena any of Apple’s records. And Apple itself has admitted to tracking you in public.
The government is also capable of doing anything you or I can do, and it’s very easy for you or I to write tracking apps that phone in your GPS location.
Be better informed than your friend on the issue! Enjoy this link!

Answer:
Almost all cell phones have GPS. It can be used to track, monitor, and even record your conversations. If the iPad is being used as a cell device I;m sure the same is true for it.
Answer:
Okay… its true that they can track you, but why do you care? Your not a criminal. And as for your cousin. You have to submit to the goverment what school you go to anyway.
Answer:
[my cousin has the iPad 2 and he said that he gets emails about stuff that only family would know like what school he goes to.]
When you visit websites, the website places a "cookie" on your browser.
A cookie is a small program that supposedly caches your settings, but they have evolved to gather info about your browsing history.
That is why your cousin "thinks" the government is following him, because when he visits his schools website the browser remembers, and shares that information.
If you don’t want the "government" following your I-Pad around… you need to go to your browser settings and "delete all cookies" to make it dumb again.
Answer:
The government doesn’t have time to worry about you.
But apple does.
Of course tracking apps can be on any smartphone be it android or windows.

They can track you if they wanted to but they know were you are anyways everyday things like a bank acc a mortgage they knowbwere you are Read more…
